Our Story

How it all started...

God planted the seed for a church while on Grand Forks AFB. On September 1976, Elder Cole took over “The Gospel Hour” Bible study, and in a vision, God spoke the name of the church that was soon to become, Gospel Outreach Ministries. On September of 1982, Elder Cole gave up 10 years in the United States Air Force to begin a full-time ministry as Pastor and Evangelist to the State of North Dakota. In 1986, the church moved to the Grand Forks Civic Auditorium, and in July of 1987, the to its own building located at 123 N 3rd St., Grand Forks, ND.

In November, Elder Cole was informed of his elevation to Bishop and immediate appointment to Prelate for the North Dakota Jurisdiction at the Church of God in Christ National Convocation in Memphis, TN. Two years later, the church was established at 321 Belmont Road, Grand Forks, ND.

Bishop Cole continues to travel the world, moving in the Holy Spirit. God continues to use the Church of God in Christ in North Dakota to save, prepare, and send many to the nations of the world and fulfill the vision of the church in this great state.

More to come...

Expanding the vision...

On July 19, 2020, we moved into our new 13,000 sq. ft. facility. This has been the vision of our founder, Bishop Cole, for over a decade when he decided to purchase this land on South 42nd Street. The land was at that time, all farm land, but is now home to the New GO Church situated in one of the most prime real estate locations in the city.
